I’m back from my second trip on the Odin and it was a great time! I had so much fun there. cooking for 6 people, fishing, spearfishing and driving the tinny. The wales are coming too. The next months gonna be great for wale watching!

I’m going on the Marylynne tomorrow. Start at 6am at the Paspaley Shed and i’m gonna be out at sea for about 28 days. Cant wait!

we had wharf day yesterday. That means all the stuff from the boat gets changed, refilled and cleaned. Today we went to the wharf again to load all the food. It was very windy and we had to bring all the stuff with a little tinny out to where the odin is ankered.  What a wet “fun”. Loading was not very easy either… with high waves is the step from tinny to Boat sometimes 20cm and sometimes 1m. Well, I hope its better tomorrow when we going back to the Odin… cant wait:)

One day and 7 dives to go…its really cold this morning. The guys call it German winter and its freezing with board shorts and shirt. well, I guess I’m just to used to hot weather now. Its still gets up to more than 25 degrees. And this is the Broome winter. Summer must be very hot then. The Diver getting ready. Its so funny in the morning. All walking around in black wet suits that just leave the faces free.

A new Diver is on the Boat. He swapped with Terrence because he gonna be the skipper for the next Trip and needs to get familiar with the Odin. The Diver are all really exited, its their last trip for this year and they all quite sick of diving. And I’m happy too. I’m gonna be the cook for the next trip. This will be a “turning” trip. Just 4 diver staying on board and turning the panels once a day so the pearls getting nice and round. When we coming back to Broome my next job is already waiting for me. I’m going on the Marilyn for harvest. The 2 days off this week gonna be the last for almost 6 weeks. I’m so exited, i just can’t hide it…:)

New Spot today. I’m counting, cleaning, tagging and stacking. Everything runs great. Every 2 Hours or so a little boat is coming to pick up the panels with the shell. They bring them to a “dump”. A spot somewhere in the sea with lines of panels on the bottom. When the “fishing” is done they all get picked up and going to the pearl farms further up north. The divers must be up soon, last dive…time for a bit chill out and a beer on deck. just right to see another beautiful sunset out here. Jamie and me where chatting with Bridgie a bit this evening. He got us something to think about. All this big nice Yachts in the Caribbean Sea going in and out from fort Lauderdale in USA. He was working there for 5 Years and knows that they always look for Staff there. He also got some connections and maybe I’m going to work a bit longer on Boats. I never thought that I gonna like it that much. I really enjoy every second. Gonna think about it when the Sea is rocking me to sleep tonight.

apparently its Sunday, I lost completely track about the weekdays. Its just another day on the Boat. We doing just 7 Dives today because we move spot later. Bridgie told me we ‘re going to a patch where they haven’t been for 8 Years. It got destroyed by a cyclone 8 Years ago. Everybody is in best mood and Bridgie is playing air-guitar to AC/DC in his skipper cabin. Jamie is giving her best to cook great stuff and treats us with cookies & muffins.

Found some nice Starfish today. Jamie as well…a Starfish got caught in his diving gear. He got troubles to breathe and had to surface. After he took everything apart, a not to small starfish came out of his respirator. Starfishboy still got a lot of shell during this Dive.
